The possibility of year-round schools has been a hot debate topic for quite some time. The question is, is the idea of year-round schools acceptable considering all the potential drawbacks? Year round schooling can be disruptive to both the family of the students and the teachers themselves, it can be too costly for a large group of people, and year round schools do not provide the same opportunity for learning as the traditional school year does.

For several reasons, the traditional school year is more beneficial in comparison to year round schooling.

One of the main affects it would have on would be money and the cost of year-round school. We would end up having to pay teachers more to work longer. The schools utilities and bills would increase and I would come to believe that academics, textbooks, etc. would need to be purchased more often. Some parents may need to arrange different child care, which can be very costly as well.

Cost may be one of the main issues with year-round school but it does also personally affect students of all ages.

I don’t think all students would be affected with year-round school but the majority of the students would. Most teens now a day need to work during the summertime full-time to earn money for college or to support themselves. For younger kids they would miss out on the opportunity to go to summer camps and get an educational setting in a fun environment where they can interact with peers outside of their norm.

Also a lot of kids who currently attend a year-round school are known to have a social disorder with others. This may cause stress and anxiety to the student, which can lead to poor grades within school. Unfortunately students and cost wouldn’t just be affected by this transition, so would the teachers.

Teachers are not often thought about in a process like this but can affect them in many ways. Most teachers are set to work a traditional school year, so if they were to change it, it could interrupt their lifestyles. Some teachers have other jobs they have committed to within their time off. They may have already pre-planned their vacations, reunions, events, etc. during that time. Also teachers may become more aggravated or stressed with year-round school, as appose to a traditional school year.

There are lots of pros and cons to having year-round school but in my opinion I believe it can be a bad idea. Students, teachers, and money do not need to be effected by a transition like this. Why do we need to interrupt a good system that has currently worked for us after all these years? The answer is we don’t, we should just keep it the same.

School Visit This report is about my visit to the Roberto Clemente Middle School in Paterson, New Jersey. The visit was conducted on April 4th, in the afternoon. It was rainy. A majority of studies on the matter have concentrated on depicting vivid family structure descriptions, the existence of diverse representations of family, and kinds of interpersonal interactions in television facilities. Art Over the past several thousand years, the Chinese have contributed some of the world's most significant technological tools and inventions. Most of these inventions have had a tremendous impact on human history and it is hard to imagine life without any of them. Among the most influential of Chinese inventions include gunpowder/explosives; paper; moveable type; the magnetic compass; tea; noodles; matches; and silk. Of these eight inventions, the four most important include paper, gunpowder, tea, and noodles. Of those four, the Chinese invention I could least likely live without would be noodles. The processing of magnesium is multi-step task using significant amounts of energy. In the June 1944 issue of the Desert, Lelande Quick provides the following pictorial of how magnesium is processed: everal employees of Basic Magnesium spent much time in England learning the skills required for the above process. Ironically, the Germans assisted England in building the plant prior to war. Locating the processing plant near Hoover Dam resulted in low cost energy. More so, the gender pay gap is higher towards the upper end of the pay distribution. As recently as 2002, women who worked more than thirty-five hours per week for fifty-two weeks per year earned only 78% as much as men (Giddens, Duneir, & Applebaum, 2003). This paper is an analysis of the legal-political context of the Quebec State then enables the detachment of the cornerstones of its policy speech in general, and finally those with respect to the indigenous population, in particular to the Inuit language. Essay on Year Round School is a Bad Idea: A Year-round school is the same as the traditional school schedule. The only difference is that students in year-round school get more frequent breaks, but their breaks are shorter and they don’t get a traditional long three to four months of summer break.

The negative impact of this year-round school is that on families. Having quality family time is important to the emotional and developmental well being of a child. Not having a summer break can make it difficult to have this family time and learn human values.

Year-round school is a bad idea. Summer is a season to enjoy and kids should be able to enjoy their summer vacations. Most families can plan vacations over the summer holidays only. Year-round schools cancel this summer family vacation.

Also the summer season has a very hot climate in India. And many schools don’t have proper fans and other equipment to keep the classroom cool. So it is difficult for students to concentrate on their studies in such a hot climate.

Students also cannot enjoy summer camps or take on summer jobs to earn money for the future. Too many breaks in year round school disrupt learning. Because of the constant mini breaks teachers cannot focus on a topic for long duration, lengthy lessons are broken by these breaks. In schools with a long summer break, lessons are not broken up by frequent breaks and are taught in continuation. Teachers also don’t have to worry about breaks. Also students remained focused on their studies.

Finally, traditional summer vacations can provide many learning opportunities which you can’t get in a classroom such as family values. No summer time means kids will miss out on art, culture and special adventures that are possible in long summer vacations only.

They get all sorts of experiences which are not possible in school. Long Summers off have long been a sigh of relief to both students and teachers after an intense school year.

According to some education experts, summer vacation break is too long and students do not recall all that was taught last year as easily when they return after a break. While some people view that there should be year-round schools, where kids get a small break in the summer, a winter break, and a week off in the spring.

But I believe year-round school is a bad idea because summer break is a time when teachers and students get to take a break to refresh and rejuvenate after working hard for nine to ten months.

Educators want to switch the education system, which is a 10-month system, to a year-round education system. This change is due to the concern for summer learning loss.

Year round school is a bad idea because it does nothing to combat summer learning loss, and it takes away summer break which is an important part in having a healthy childhood.The summer time is necessary in the healthy development of children. Students like to spend their summer vacation by attending many extracurricular activity classes, going to youth camps, working out or going to the pool. These activities are crucial to remaining healthy and are not possible during school time. Summer vacation time is a stress free time free from the burden of studies so the kids can groom themselves by different activities and enjoy quality family time.

Summer vacations are the time when students love to do extracurricular activities. But students at a year-round school cannot enjoy certain outside activities like summer sports teams or camps because of school timings.

Year round education School is a bad idea because it not only makes it pointless to switch to year-round education, it also complicates the lives of students, parents and families as a whole who await summer vacation year long.. During the summer break, many students use this down time to take up a summer job to help and support their families. Taking away the extended summer break would take away this earning opportunity.

Every new year brings lots of hope and enthusiasm among the students. It gives students a chance to practice new procedures, and learn new schedules. And also many new opportunities.

Also one more aspect of year-round school is cost. The costing increases to run a school throughout the year-round. Along with teaching staff, non-teaching staff, the school building, transport mediums all will require more funds for maintenance which will directly increase the burden of parents.

All of these shows that not only year-round school is a bad idea and it is difficult to execute, and also pointless. It just complicates the lives of kids, parents, teachers and families as a whole. On top of that it takes away downtime that is vital to the healthy development of children.

Advantages of the Year Round School

Imagine a way where your children could be relieved of their stress that they gain throughout the year, be given more breaks and not lose any knowledge over the summer! By going to the year round school system your children can achieve all of these things and also make higher test scores! It is better to have year round school as opposed to tradition school because when having year round school schools take more frequent breaks throughout the year.

These more frequent breaks cause kids to have less stress and without the huge summer break you are not losing the knowledge that you have already learned throughout the year. By going to the year round school system there is no longer the long three-month summer break. However without the summer break it allows for schools to make for more frequent, weeklong, breaks throughout the year. Some schools, instead of taking breaks throughout the year, only go to school for three or four days a week to even out the time that summer break had given kids before.

Having a traditional school year and less school per week will cause kids to have less stress that everyday school brings to them now. The stress level from kids now going through a traditional school year is at an all time high. The stress levels of children would drop if there were more frequent breaks throughout the year or if the students only had to go to school for 3 to 4 days a week. In traditional schools where you have a three-month long summer break children lose the knowledge that they have gained throughout the year over that period with no learning.
